How it works

  1. Add one or more cavity models
  2. Set cavity count, spacing and tray dimensions
  3. Check the automatically aligned cavity layout
  4. Download the tray mold parts for printing

What this tool does

  • Multiple uploaded models for tray use
  • Cavity count and spacing controls
  • Flat-base tray layout
  • Adjustable wall and channel dimensions

Common uses

  • Repeated small castings
  • Ice, chocolate, soap and craft tray concepts
  • Mixed-shape batches with user-chosen spacing

Tray Mold Generator

Arrange one or more uploaded models into a flat-base multi-cavity tray mold workflow. Choose cavity count and spacing, then create a printable tray master with the same in-browser geometry system. Supported mesh inputs are STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB, GLTF and FBX. STEP, STP and IGES should be exported to a mesh format first. The geometry workflow runs in your browser. Quote and account actions are separate services and are only used when you submit them.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a multi-cavity silicone mold?

Upload the shape or shapes, choose the tray workflow, then set the requested cavity count and spacing before generation. The output is a printable tray-style mold master; choose casting material and production settings for your own process.

What is a multi-cavity mold?

A multi-cavity mold contains more than one repeated or arranged cavity so several items can be made in one cycle. The tray workflow uses a flat-base layout to keep the generated master practical for printing.

Can one tray contain different shapes?

Yes. The tray workflow supports multiple uploaded models and arranges them into the selected layout. Review spacing and the preview before producing the final parts.

How much spacing should be between cavities?

Spacing should leave enough material between cavities for the chosen mold wall and casting process. AutoMold3D gives you a spacing control; inspect the layout rather than using a single universal value.

When should I use a tray mold instead of a two-part mold?

Use a tray workflow for shallow or open-top repeated shapes that benefit from a flat base. Use a two-part mold when the geometry needs matching halves around a more enclosed model.
