Prepare an STL Before Mold Generation

A small topology check before generating a mold prevents avoidable failures in splitting, clearance and printable walls.

Confirm that the uploaded file is a mesh format and that its scale is correct in millimetres. Models with accidental centimetre or metre scale can produce unusable wall and clearance values even if the shape looks correct on screen.

Inspect the mesh for open boundaries, non-manifold edges, duplicate shells and extremely thin areas. A repair pass can help with small gaps, but severe scan damage should be compared visually before it is used as a mold source.

Orient the model for a practical opening direction, then select the mold workflow. Review the generated parts at full size before exporting STL files to your own slicer.
