How it works
- Upload the mesh and inspect the topology report
- Choose whether to attempt small-gap repair
- Compare the repaired preview with the original
- Download only after the result passes your visual check

Inspect a mesh before printing and use the optional repair pass to weld tiny gaps and validate topology. Review the result visually before using a repaired file in a slicer or mold workflow. Supported mesh inputs are STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB, GLTF and FBX. STEP, STP and IGES should be exported to a mesh format first. The geometry workflow runs in your browser. Quote and account actions are separate services and are only used when you submit them.
Load the mesh in the optimize workflow, keep the repair option enabled, then inspect the topology report and preview. Repair is a best-effort small-gap and validation pass; it is not a promise that every damaged scan can be rebuilt safely.
A non-manifold mesh has edge or vertex connections that do not describe one clean physical solid. Slicers can interpret those locations unpredictably, so they should be inspected before printing.
A watertight mesh is closed with no boundary edges, so it describes a contained volume. That is usually a useful condition for slicing and mold-generation workflows, although the model must still be visually checked.
Yes. Any automated repair can change damaged geometry, especially around severe defects. AutoMold3D reports its result and keeps the workflow reviewable so you can compare it before downloading.
Common causes include holes, non-manifold edges, overlapping geometry, inverted regions and degenerate faces. A topology check helps identify whether the mesh should be repaired or edited before slicing.
The mesh workflow accepts STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB, GLTF and FBX. CAD formats such as STEP or IGES should first be exported as a mesh.
