AUTOMOLD3D · GUIDE
Where Should You Cut a Large 3D Model?
Choose less-visible, mechanically sensible areas with enough material around the future joint. Review each split preview before exporting.
Open tool →A practical workflow
- Upload the model that exceeds your printer volume
- Set the actual X, Y and Z build limits
- Review safe split interfaces and optional connectors
- Arrange parts for FDM and download the ZIP
What to check
Supported mesh inputs are STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB, GLTF and FBX. STEP, STP and IGES should be exported to a mesh format first. The geometry workflow runs in your browser. Quote and account actions are separate services and are only used when you submit them.
Frequently asked questions
What should I check before I start?
Confirm that the model is a supported mesh format, review its orientation and inspect it for obvious holes, overlap or thin areas before generating or splitting geometry.
Does this replace a slicer?
No. AutoMold3D creates or prepares model geometry. Use your own slicer to set printer-specific layers, supports, materials and G-code.
Should I inspect the output?
Yes. Preview and inspect generated mold or split parts before printing. Model geometry, material choice and printer behavior are project-specific.
